The motto of NSS is being 'NOT ME BUT YOU' makes it clear that useful living comprises in placing society above self.
Since the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society as a whole, the individual
must align his own personal interest with the interest of everyone. This expresses the essence of democratic living
and upholds the need of selfless service.
The NSS volunteers of BSA College, Mathura have shown remarkable enthusiasm in numerous welfare measures.
Major objectives of this scheme are:
- Promoting awareness drives against illiteracy, dowry, superstitious beliefs etc.
- Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve themselves in problem solving.
- Acquiring leadership qualities and holistic attitude towards sensitive issues.
- Initiating group living and responsibility sharing to ensure communal harmony and cultural integration.
- Gaining Skills in mobilizing community participation in emergency situations like earthquakes, floods, major accidents etc.
- Drawing inspirations from lives of great personalities by celebrating their anniversaries.
- Participating in National Integration, Adventure Camps, Conferences, Workshops.
- Republic Day celebrations.
- Educating voters towards active participation in the elections.
- Initiating cleanliness and environmental drives.
There are two units of NSS, working actively in BSA College, Mathura.
