of the teacher, and for training a teacher, the contribution of the education department is utmost.
The Department of Education is committed to bring out the best potentials of its students to develop them as empowered and
envisioned leaders of Indian Education. The Department possesses a team of able and sensitive teachers striving to
promote among the prospective teachers and the teacher educators a high standard of knowledge, professional skills,
cultural understanding, social responsibility and synergistic progress within a truly multicultural educational environment.

knowledge resources (internet facilities, regular seminars, workshops, community programmes and other co-curricular experiences)

The department offers a degree in B.Ed., and M.Ed. programmes. Demonstration lessons, practice teaching and internship programmes
are regular features of the curricula of the courses being offered. Extension activities such as community enrichment programmes
have been organized to develop awareness about health and education amongst rural people. Cultural activities, games and sports
are organized by the students to identify and nurture the talents in the concerned fields. The department provides educational
programmes that lead to the acquisition of knowledge and skills necessary to achieve information literacy, career advancement,
personal enrichment, leadership, and service to the community. To ensure quality programme, the department of Education
assesses practices, policies, and procedures on an ongoing basis to strengthen the overall effectiveness of curriculum,

Eligibility Criteria:
For B.Ed.
(1) Candidates with at least 50% marks either in Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree in sciences/Social Sciences/Humanity,
Bachelor’s in Engineering or technology with specialization in science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification
equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the program.
(2) The reservation and relaxation for sc/st/obc/pwd and other categories shall be as per rules of central government/ state government, whichever applicable.
For M.Ed.
(1) B.T. , L.T. or B.Ed. with minimum 55% marks.
(2) Provided that atleast 50% marks in intermediate and Bachelor degree examination separately or an average of 50% in
intermediate and bachelor degree exam counted together.
(3) Bachelor’s degree examination shall mean B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc.(Ag)

Admission through counselling followed by university entrance exam Relaxation in eligibility conditions may be given to SC, ST candidates as per guidelines of state government.
