The Department of Statistics was established under Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra, Apart from being
one of the most prestigious departments that runs B.Sc. (since 1959), and M.Sc. (since 2001) programmes,
it also offers courses in basic Statistics to undergraduate & postgraduate students.
The Department well equipped laboratory with modern instruments. The department is enriched with learning resources such as
charts, slides, models, herbarium which help the students in independent learning.
Statistical knowledge helps you use the proper methods to collect the data, employ the correct
analyses, and effectively present the results. Statistics is a crucial process behind how we make
discoveries in science, make decisions based on data, and make predictions. Statistics allows you
to understand a subject much more deeply.
The department offered undergraduate and post graduate course in statistics.
The department has earned for itself an excellent reputation in teaching and research with
specialization in Statistical Inference, Design of Experiments, Survey Sampling, Econometrics,
Bio-Statistics, Reliability and other applied areas.
To impart quality education in theoretical and practical aspects of statistics to students in order to
prepare them for research opportunities, professional courses for high salaried and challenging jobs mission.
We are constantly seeking better ways to do that in more and more challenging situation, using mathematics,
computing and insight.
