National Service Scheme (NSS)

The motto of NSS is being 'NOT ME BUT YOU' makes it clear that useful living comprises in placing society above self. Since the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society as a whole, the individual must align his own personal interest with the interest of everyone. This expresses the essence of democratic living and upholds the need of selfless service.
The NSS volunteers of BSA College, Mathura have shown remarkable enthusiasm in numerous welfare measures. Major objectives of this scheme are:

  • Promoting awareness drives against illiteracy, dowry, superstitious beliefs etc.
  • Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve themselves in problem solving.
  • Acquiring leadership qualities and holistic attitude towards sensitive issues.
  • Initiating group living and responsibility sharing to ensure communal harmony and cultural integration.
  • Gaining Skills in mobilizing community participation in emergency situations like earthquakes, floods, major accidents etc.
  • Drawing inspirations from lives of great personalities by celebrating their anniversaries.
  • Participating in National Integration, Adventure Camps, Conferences, Workshops.
  • Republic Day celebrations.
  • Educating voters towards active participation in the elections.
  • Initiating cleanliness and environmental drives.

There are two units of NSS, working actively in BSA College, Mathura. NSS leader of Unit 1 is Shri Raj Nath and NSS leader of Unit 2 is Dr. Vinod Kumar. Students willing to join NSS can contact NSS leaders.

National Cadet Corps (NCC)

National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy, Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens.
The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, colleges and universities all over India. The cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course but are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on the achievements in the corps.
Motto of the NCC is 'Unity' and 'Dsicipline'.
In BSA College, Mathura NCC unit '2/10 Coy UP BN NCC' is fully functional.
Associate NCC Officer (ANO) is Lt. (Dr.) Jaswant Singh Thakur.

रोवर्स रेंजर्स

महाविद्यालय में शिक्षण कार्य के साथ ही साथ रोवर्स रेंजर्स के रूप में शिक्षणेत्तर गतिविधियों का आयोजन एक दशक से संचालित होता चला आ रहा है, जिसमें रोवरिंग/रेंजरिंग गतिविधियाँ यथा पुल निर्माण, गाँठे बन्धन, प्राथमिक चिकित्सा, वी.पी. सिक्स, मार्च पास्ड आदि के साथ ही सांस्कृतिक गतिविधियाँ यथा - निबन्ध लेखन, चित्रकला, भाषा, क्विज, वाद-विवाद, एकल व समूह गान आदि भी संचालित होती हैं। ये गतिविधियाँ छात्रोंपयोगी तो हैं ही साथ ही इसमें सहभागिता करने पर प्राप्त प्रमाण-पत्र के माध्यम से छात्रों को उच्च शिक्षा के कुछ पाठ्यक्रमों में वोनस अंक व कुछ सरकारी सेवाओं यथा पुलिस, रेलवे आदि में भी साक्षात्कार में अतिरिक्त अंक प्रदान किये जाते है।
माह सितम्बर से दिसम्बर तक छात्र छात्राओं को रोवर्स/रेंजर्स गतिविधियों का महाविद्यालय में प्रशिक्षण दिया जाता हैं। तत्पश्चात् महाविद्यालय स्तर की रोवर्स/रेंजर्स टीम का चयन किया जाता हैं। प्रति वर्ष दिसम्बर माह में अन्तर्विद्यालीय रोवर्स रेंजर्स समागम (रैली) का आयोजन विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा सम्पन्न कराया जाता है, जिसमें हमारे महाविद्यालय की रोवर्स/रेंजर्स टीमें सहभागिता करती है। विजेता/उपविजेता रोवर्स/रेंजर्स टीमों को राज्य स्तरीय रोवर्स रेंजर्स अन्तर्विश्वविद्यालीय समागम (रैली) में सहभागिता का अवसर मिलता हैं।
प्रो. एस. के. सिंह, प्रभारी, राजनीति शास्त्र विभाग महाविद्यालय में रोवर्स रेंजर्स प्रभारी है। इच्छुक छात्र-छात्रायें इस सम्बन्ध में प्रो. एस. के. सिंह से सम्पर्क स्थापित कर सकते है।

Central Library

The College has a Central Library with over 80, 000 books and digital setup. Students also have facility to use E-Library books on permission.
The library is well connected with INFLIBNET and DELNET programmes of the UGC. Student in the post graduate programmes can also use INFLIBNET and DELNET facilities and they can also search through over thousands of research journals in various disciplines.
The Library has got a good collection of books. Some of these books (as selected by the Library Committee) may be issued to students.
There is a separate section in the Central Library, called 'Book Bank', meant to help poor students. The college has a rich Book Bank. Any Student/ Teacher/ Organization can donate relevant books to the Book Bank.

Scholarships

Students of all categories are provided with scholarships by the Government wih the following limitations: For General, BC and OBC category students, the net annual income of the parents must be less than Rs. 1, 00, 000. For SC and ST students the net annual income of the parents must be less than Rs. 2, 00, 000. If the parents of the SC/ ST and other student are in Govt. job, they are not eligible for scholarship under the scheme.

डॉ. समर सिंह सिसौदिया स्मृति पुरस्कार : बी.ए. में सर्वाधिक अंक प्राप्त करने वाले विद्यार्थी को प्रो. एस. के. सिंह (राजनीति शास्त्र विभाग) के पूजनीय पिताजी की स्मृति में पुरस्कार व प्रशस्ति पत्र प्रदान किया जायेगा।
श्री एम.पी. शर्मा स्मृति पुरस्कार : बी.ए- शिक्षा संकाय में सर्वाधिक अंक प्राप्त करने वाले विद्यार्थी को प्रो. ललित मोहन शर्मा (प्राचार्य, बी.एस.ए. कॉलेज, मथुरा) के पूजनीय पिताजी की स्मृति में पुरस्कार व प्रशस्ति पत्र प्रदान किया जायेगा।
डॉ. एस.पी. गुप्ता स्मृति पुरस्कार : बी.एस.सी. गणित विषय में सर्वाधिक अंक प्राप्त करने वाले विद्यार्थी को डॉ. मिशु गुप्ता के पूजनीय पिताजी की स्मृति में पुरस्कार व प्रशस्ति पत्र प्रदान किया जायेगा।

Games & Sports

The college gives equal important once to sports. Facilities for playing Cricket, Football, Hockey, Volly-ball, Badminton etc. Games and Sports in the college shall be managed by the Sports Committee. This comprises of the Principal (President), the Convener (Secretary) and 5-6 teachers and student representatives.
Dr. Jaswant Singh (Physical Education Department) is the convener (secretary) of the games committee. He supervises and guides (in consultation with the president), various arrangements for the proper conduct of the games in the college.
All the students of the college are encouraged to participate in the sports activities. Interested candidates may contact Dr. Jaswant Singh for further details.
6 Courts of Badminton, 2 Courts of Lawn Tennis, 1 Table Tennis room available;le in college campus. Yoga, Cricket Camp and Self Defence Marshal Arts training is also available.
No student of the college team will be permitted to play for any outside team without taking proper permission of the President/ Secretary. Students willing to play Badminton will have to bring their own rackets and have to pay extra fee as prescribed by the committee during badminton session.

Cultural Activities

The College promotes various cultural and academic activities throughout the year for the all-round personality development of students.
