About Department

The Department of Music was established under Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra, Apart from being one of the most prestigious departments that runs B.A. (since 2025) programmes, it also offers courses in basic Music to undergraduate students.
The Department of Music offers Hindustani Classical Music as one of the discipline subjects in the BA programme course. The study of this three year course makes students aware of our cultural traditions and the subject of Indian culture. The objective of the study of Music, its education and performance is to impart training and performance skills to aspiring students of music. All along the course, the central focus of attention and related studies remains on developing the ability to give a good musical performance. The collective endeavour of all theory and practical study of the topics is to enrich the thinking, understanding and physical mechanism towards a better performance of Music.
In the vibrant tapestry of cultural activities, students from the Music department proudly represent the college. Their active participation in a variety of cultural events not only showcases their musical prowess but also provides a fertile ground for their overall development.
Students of Music department represent the college by participating in various types of cultural activities which provides a platform for overall development of the students.
